Jacques Berlioz (historian)

Jacques Berlioz , born the November 9th 1953 with Chambéry (Savoy) is a French historian.
Former student of the National school of the charters, it leaves there in 1977 with a thesis on the Tractatus diversis materiis predicabilibus Etienne de Bourbon.
He is then member of the French École of Rome then directing of the services of files of the the Jura (1979), before being named in charge of research to CNRS (1982). He becomes in 1997 Research director at CNRS at the National school of the charters. He also teaches in the universities of Lyon 2, Lausanne, Geneva and Freiburg.
He Co-directs with Olivier Guyotjeannin the collection “the Workshop of the medievist” to the Brepols editions.
Since 2006, he is director of the National school of the charters.
