Jacques Bainville (February 9th 1879, Vincennes - February 9th 1936, Paris) is a Journaliste and Historien French.
Biography
Jacques Bainville studied with the Lycée Henri-Iv then followed studies of letters and history. He began his work in 1900, at the 20 years age, with Louis II of Bavaria .Charles Maurras made it enter as journalist to the Gazette of France then to the French Action where it held the heading of foreign politics. Bainville also wrote for Freedom , Small Parisian the and the Belgian Nation . It ensured the direction of the newspaper the universal Review .
Great figure of the nationalist Monarchism and of the French Action, it exalta the policy of the French Monarchy ( French history , 1924) and worried about the weakness of the democracy vis-a-vis the German power ( the Third Republic , 1935). He is elected by twenty vote on twenty-seven voters with the French Academy in 1935 with armchair 34, succeeding Raymond Poincaré.
In a work noticed, the Political consequences of Peace , published in 1920, Jacques Bainville is also known to have denounced the Traité of Versailles of 1919 and the very important compensations requested from Germany. It estimated at it that this treaty humiliated the Germany and would in the near future push it in revenge and Bainville described there the process of release of the Second world war, namely the annexation of Austria by Reich, the crisis of Sudètes with Czechoslovakia and a German-Russian pact against Poland. Deeply anticommunist and anti-Germanist, it had a vision of the future of the 20th century which on the whole was checked with the horror of the Second world war: “it is about a too soft peace for what it has of hard, and too hard for what it has of soft”.

François Mauriac, renting the talents of analyst of Bainville, will write later: “Of a conjectural science, Bainville made an exact science. ”
At the time of its burial, the February 13rd 1936, the funerary procession caused a congestion due at the speed relatively low to which it advanced. In spite of him, Leon Blum, in a rosette car, was taken in the funerary procession. Militants of the French Action, regarding its attitude as provocative, broke the pane of its car and started with the molester. The intervention of workmen working on a nearby building site prevented that the socialist leader was not lynched. In sign of protest, a demonstration proceeds the Pantheon with the Bastille and is marked by some confrontations.
