Jacques Échard (September 2nd, 1644 1 with Rouen - March 15th, 1724 1 with Paris) is a French monk, historian about the Dominican S.

Resulting from a family from notable, it enters the order of Dominican after having studied humanities. It is pointed out by its assiduity in the study and is seen entrusting the task to supplement the history of the order, left unfinished by Jacques Quétif. It achieves a meticulous work on the manuscripts coming from several libraries of Europe and publishes in 1719 - 21 Scriptores ordinis praedicatorum recensiti notis historicis and criticis illustrati auctoribus where are listed the Dominican authors with, for each one, a biographical note and a reasoned bibliography. Noticed at the time of its publication by the Newspaper of the scientists , the work is republished in 1910 - 14 and in 1961.
