Jacques-Yvan Morin , G.O.Q (July 15th 1931 with Quebec -) is a politician and a lawyer Québécois. He was the chief of the Official opposition for the Parti Québécois to the National Assembly Quebec of 1973 to 1976
After higher learning with the University McGill, the University of Harvard and the University of Cambridge, it is allowed with the Barreau of Quebec in 1953. He is a former member of the Ordre of Jacques-Cartier.
He teaches the right Université of Montreal and becomes the president of the association of the professors. At the same time, he is also member of the International court of arbitration of $the Hague. Specialist in International law, it directs the European Institut of the high international studies.
At the end of the Years 1960, it chairs the State-generals of French Canada and adheres to the Mouvement Québécois souverainist. It directs the National movement of the Inhabitants of Quebec. In 1970, it fails in its attempt to gain a district but it succeeds in gaining a seat in 1973.
After this election, the Québécois Party becomes the Official opposition with the National Assembly because of the collapse of the National union. The chief of the Québécois Party, Rene Lévesque, by not having gained his elections in its counted, Morin becomes the chief of the Opposition until the election of 1976, election which will carry its party in power.
In 1976, it put an end to a continuation against the doctor Henry Morgentaler, which was going to lead to the legalization of the Avortement in Canada.
It occupies several stations in the ministerial cabinet, of which the post of Ministre for the Education of Quebec, of Minister for the intergovernmental businesses and Minister for culture and scientific development. Its principal private secretary of then is the high-civil servant Clément Duhaime.
Morin leaves the policy in 1984 and turns over in teaching to Montreal. It is received for a time with the Université of Poitiers.
