Jacques-François de Villiers

Jacques-François de Villiers , born with Saint-Maixent in 1727 and died in 1794, is a French doctor and translator.

He exerts as doctor of the camps and armies of the king in Germany during the Guerre Seven Year old. He is then doctor-regent of the medical college of Paris, then doctor with Pont-à-Mousson and doctor of the royal École veterinary surgeon.

He contributed a score of articles to the Encyclopédie or reasoned Dictionary of sciences, arts and trades , among which the longest article of the Encyclopédie is, entitled Fourneau (philosophical Chemistry) . He also collaborated in the Journal of medicine and he is the compiler or the translator of several medical works.
