Jacques-Edouard Berger (May 24th, 1945 - November 10th, 1993) was preserving with the cantonal Museum of the Art schools of Lausanne, part-time lecturer at the federal Polytechnic school of Lausanne (FPSL, department of the Social sciences) and at the cantonal School of arts of Lausanne, scientific collaborator of the Radio French-speaking Switzerland (RSR), writer, lecturer (direction of Association For Art, cycles of course-conferences and voyages cultural), ordinary member of the ICOM (International Council off Natural history musea - International counsel of the Museums), member of the Executive committee of the international Countryside for the Creation of the Museum of Nubie in Assouan and the National museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, named by the General conference of UNESCO (Participation in work of the Committee as of the session from February in Assouan), art critic for many newspapers (articles and criticisms in the Platform of Lausanne, Prospects, Cultural Alliance, Museum, Hebdo (Swiss), etc).

He is the son of the pr. Rene Berger. Its life was entirely devoted to art and the beauty. During its many voyages practically in the whole world, it gathered works of art which became its personal collection. It also led during years of the groups on the way of old civilizations to which it was particularly attached, inter alia the Egypt, the China, the India, the Japan, the Burma, the Laos, the Thailand, to what its very many tours as well in Europe are added as to the the United States. While sharing its discoveries and its passion with his travelling companions, it did not cease photographing the places and works which it liked. With proof the impressive collection of more than 125  000 slides that it joined together and of which it drew the matter from its courses and its conferences, which it designed according to the capacity of revelation of the work of Article Its slides was digitized by the Foundation Jacques-Edouard Berger and was placed free at the disposal of all on Internet.
