Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne , born the October 9th, 1948 with Heidelberg (Germany), is a American Auteur-compositeur-interprète of Rock.

Biography

Very young person he moved of Germany towards Los Angeles where he started to play of the music Folk. Its career truly started when it joined the group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Early composer-songwriter, Browne signed a contract with " Nina Music" , its songs were interpreted, inter alia, by Tom Rush, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, The Byrds.

Browne was established for one short period with Greenwich Village (New York). It joined the group of Tim Buckley and took part in the recording of the album Chelsea Girl of Nico.

In 1971, Browne signed with “Asylum Records” and carried out its first album Jackson Browne- Saturate before using (1972) which included/understood the hit " Doctor My Eyes" , but also " Jamaica say you will", " Song for Adam" and " My Opening Farewell". At the same time, Browne was joint author of " Take it easy" the famous hit of the Eagles.

Its following album For Everyman was of quality but was a commercial failure.

Late for the Sky (1974) had warm welcome by criticism and its fans, he is often regarded as his best album. The best songs are " Late for the Sky", " For has Dancer" and " Before the Deluge". It is well helped by the play with the guitar and the violin of David Lindley. The song-title was used by Martin Scorsese for his film Taxi Driver.

Browne then carried out another major album, The Pretender , little time after the suicide of his wife, Phyllis. At the same time, Browne produced and accompanied Warren Zevon for his the first two albums.

It recorded its following album, Running one Empty (1977), whereas it was in round. It was a great business success. Among the principal pieces: " Running one Empty" , " The Road" , " Rosie" , " Cocaine" and " The Load-Out/Stay".

In 1979, Browne formed association ecologist " Musicians United for Safe Energy" at the origin in the concerts No Nukes.

The album Hold Out (1980) had success but not near the musical critics. Lawyers in Coils followed in 1983 with more committed texts politically.

Its following album Lives in the Balance (1986), was a criticism of the policy of the president Reagan, in particular that carried out in Central America.

The album World in Motion which followed in (1989) was even more committed.

It carried out I' m Alive after four years of silence, and a separation with his friend, the actress Daryl Hannah.

In a general way, the songs of Browne are characterized by their excellent melodies, of the simple but well thought texts. It has talent of type-setter and is often recognized as a rock'n'roll star which has ideas.

In 2004 it took an active part in the support campaign for John Kerry against George W Bush for the presidency of the the United States.

Its most recent album, Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic vol. 1 (2005), includes/understands eleven songs recorded in public and which had already been diffused, plus a new song " The Birds off St Marks".
