Jackass

Jackass is an American television program whose episodes last a score of minutes, originally diffused on MTV. Produced initially in 1999, one sees there primarily a group of young adults who make humiliating cascades, dangerous or ridiculous, without other goal that for humor.
Depuis 2002, two films " Jackass " left on the big screen, and produced by MTV associated at Paramount Pictures. Mtv continues to diffuse the derivatives of Jackass such as Viva Bam , Wildboyz , Homewrecker and Blastazoid .

Birth of Jackass

The magazine of Skateboard and Humor Big Brother generated this show via Jeff Tremaine, Dave Carnie, Rick Kosick and Chris Pontius; others, by which Johnny Knoxville and Dave England, enriched it by their regular contributions. When Johnny Knoxville launched the idea to test various apparatuses of coil-defense on itself, Jeff Tremaine suggested filming it. A video laughing and shocking which appeared on the video second of skate of Big Brother . Several turnings followed, and the popularity of Johnny Knoxville climbed in the world Undergound skateboard. A pilot was born little time, assembled afterwards by Tremaine, Carnie, Cliver and Knoxville, container of the cascades of Knoxville and the clips vidéos of CKY and CKY2K. Various networks bought it via the old friend of Tremaine and legend of the musical vidéos, Spike Jonze. MTV adopted it: Jackass had been born.

The emission Jackass was décriée to have encouraged teenagers and children to carry out cascades which caused a certain number of deaths and wounds , in spite of the preventive message before each episode. In 2001, the American senator Joseph Lieberman of the Connecticut required at MTV to withdraw the show of the diffusions completely, or to moderate its contents, after several incidents.

Anecdotes

In 2002 the team of Jackass leaves a film, Jackass The Movie . Jackass Number Two is in the rooms, and only the day of its exit it refunded the budget of the film (11 million dollars)

They were to return in force in August 2007 to the WWE since they had announced that they will be in a match with SummerSlam . And they do not make in the small matches since they were to face Samoan The Bulldozer Umaga . Only Steve O and Chris Pontius would have fought.

Appearance in other telefilms

Several other series, benefitting from the phenomenon " Jackass" , used this emission to denounce certain things.

For example, in episode 15 of season 4 of South Park, Camp of mode , Kenny ready with very for money do not hesitate to make Trash TV. This episode includes a caricature of Johnny Knoxville. One speaks about Jackass, but to make fun more of the trash TV rather than to make a model of the genre of it.
