Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson (born John Joseph Nicholson the April 22nd 1937 with New York) is a American Acteur . Rewarded by three Oscars and seven Golden Globe, it is known for its dark characters and neurotics.

With 13 nominations, he is the male actor more named with the Oscars. On the whole nominations, it arrives second behind Meryl Streep (14 nominations and two victories). It arrives at equality with Walter Brennan for the greatest number of victories for a male actor and second after Katharine Hepburn at the full number of victories (Hepburn gained four of them). He also received a Kennedy Center Honors in 2001.

Biography

Private life

Jack Nicholson was born the 22 April 1937 in Neptune in the state from the New Jersey (the United States). He is the son of a Showgirl, named June Frances Nicholson (name of scene June Nilson) of English origin (from his/her mother) and Irish (from his/her father). Six months earlier, on October 16th, 1936, June Marie with Elkton in the Maryland, with Donald Furcillo (name of scene Donald Pink), a Showman of Italian origin. Furcillo was however already married and, although it offered to take care of the child, the mother of June, Ethel, insists to raise it, in particular so that June can continue its career of dancer.

Nicholson was high by thinking that his/her large parents John J. Nicholson (a salesman of windows in a department store with Asbury Park (New Jersey)) and Ethel May Rhoads (a hairdresser, aesthetician and artist amateur with Neptune (New Jersey)) were his/her parents. It went to the Lycée Manasquan High School, which decreed to him later an honorary reward of dramatic arts. It is only in 1974 at the time of an interview which Nicholson was informed by a journalist of Time Magazine which his/her parents were actually his/her large parents and who his sister was her mother. At that time, his/her mother and her grandmother had already died (respectively in 1963 and 1970). Nicholson declared that it did not know which was his/her father and who " Only Ethel and June knew and they did not say it to personne" .

Although Donald Furcillo claimed to be the father of Nicholson and to have been polygamous while marrying with June, the biographer Patrick McGilligan, author of " Jack' S Life" (published in December 1995) affirmed that Eddie King, the manager of June, could be the biological father. Other sources suggest that June Nicholson was not sure identity of the father. Jack Nicholson has chooses not to make a test DNA nor be worried some. Moreover, it is to be announced that there does not exist any certificate of its birth, just a statement a posteriori made when it was approximately 17 years old announcing Ethel as a mother.

First years

Nicholson began its career as an actor, scenario writer and a producer, working for and with Roger Corman, among others. This collaboration includes its first appearance in The Cry Baby Killer (1958), where he plays a juvenile delinquent who panics after having killed two other teenager, the Small shop of the horrors (1960), in which he plays a small role as a dental patient masochist.
