Jack E. Bresenham is a professor of Informatique. It was withdrawn after 27 years of services at IBM. He taught during 10 years with the Université of Winthrop and has five patents.

Bresenham is especially known for its algorithm of layout of segment which it developed in 1962. It one of the first algorithms is discovered in the field of the Synthèse of image.
