Jacek Kuroń

Jacek Kuroń , born on March 3rd, 1934 with Lvov - deceased on June 17th, 2004 with Warsaw, was one of the leaders of the democratic opposition to the Communist regime in Poland, social and political, educational activist and historian. It took part in activities of “red” scouting. It is also one of the founders of the Komitet Obrony Robotników (KOR, in French: Defense committee of the workmen). After 1989, he was twice Minister for employment and the social action.
