Jacaranda

The jacarandas are trees of the kind Jacaranda , family of the Bignoniaceae, originating in the Brésil. The most common Espèce is the blue Blazing ( Jacaranda mimosifolia ).

Description

It flowers at the beginning of summer then at the beginning of autumn by forming purplished blue flowers. Its size can reach 15 meters (50 feet).

Localization

Pretoria, the administrative capital of the South Africa, known like the city of Jacaranda (Jacaranda city) because of the significant amount of Jacaranda is planted in its streets, parks and gardens.

At the time of flowering, the city is tinted of purple blue/when it is looked at neighbouring hills.

In Australia, the town of Brisbane also has very many Jacaranda. The university of the Queensland near to the city is filled with Jacarandas and its flowers invade the streets as of the middle of spring. One of the currencies of the students of this university is: " Nobody starts to work for the exams before the fall of the flowers of Jacarandas ".

In Europe, Lisbon is avoided of this purple blue blazing between mid-May and at the beginning of June, so much certain streets are bordered by it. Jacarandas are also very present in the parks around the place Marques Pômbal and towards Belem.
