Jacana with long tail
The Jacana with long tail ( Hydrophasianus chirurgus ), formerly called water pheasant or surgeon , is characterized by the presence in the male, of two long rectrices at the time of the period of reproduction.
Description
- Overall length: 39-58 cm (of which tail: 25-35 cm) is approximately 31 cm apart from the period of nesting.
- Weight: 126 G (male) to 231 G (female)
Distribution
Jacana with long tail reproduces Pakistan in the south-east and the east of the China, with the Sri Lanka, the Filipino and in Large the islands of the Probe (Java and Sumatra). Birds winter in the east of Arabia and the south of Asia.
