Jabba Hutt

Jabba Desilijic Tiure known as Hutt (596 Av. BY - 4 a. BY) is a character of the universe of the Star Wars.

Jabba is the son of famous the Zorba Hutt and like him, he is the gangster chief of a large criminal organization.

The individuals of its race, the Hutt S, are originating in Varl. They resemble large slugs. They are Hermaphrodite S, invertebrates and immunized vis-a-vis the capacities of the Force.

He lives between a house with Mos Eisley and an old monastery on the planet Tatooine (near to the south-western edge of the Sea of Dunes) from where he reigns like a godfather of the galactic underworld.

He is almost always accompanied by his court of which Salicious Crumb, Bib Fortuna and the max Rebo Band.

Jabba has a strong resentment towards the smuggler Han Solo, whom it engaged to make pass a spice loading; but Han was forced to get rid of the cargo following an imperial control. Unfortunately, it has " oublié" to refund Jabba which hastened to put its head at price and to engage Boba Fett.

He dies on Tatooine of the hands of Leïa Organa.

Probable etymology

a rumor claims that Jabba would come from the Czech žába (Slavic word which means clamping plate or snake). The authors sought the ugliest possible pronunciation. Jabba means also Russian clamping plate/frog in or Polish.
