J-Cart

The J-Cart (or J-Cartridge ) is a cartridge of video game especially developed by Codemasters for the Sega Mega Drive, it makes it possible to increase the number of levers from two to four.

Contrary to the other alternatives available to play 4 on Megadrive, here the ports levers are located directly on the cartridge which is round for the occasion. What makes it possible to the players to play without special adapter or other handling to be made.

Thanks to this system, the play Micro Machines 2 left on Megadrive makes it possible to play to 8 players (players using only one with dimensions of their lever).

J-Cart did not have a real success, since it left relatively tardily on the Sega platform which was already at the end of the lifetime. Moreover, Codemasters did not develop many plays using this technology.
