Jéddischdaitsch

The judéo-Alsatian or Jéddischdaitsch is the speech of the Alsatian Juifs. It belongs to the unit Yiddish of which it represents the Western alternative. Following the example Jewish languages, it is composed of an important substrate of words and expressions in Hebrew and Araméen. Syntax as well as morphology is that of the Germanic languages. The lexicon includes/understands approximately 70% of German. With the difference in the Eastern Yiddish, it does not comprise a Slavic substrate. On the other hand, it contains an important substrate resulting from the Romance languages, as well as French words. Currently, it only remains very little of speakers.
