Jämsänkoski
Jämsänkoski is a city mid-west of the Finland, in the area of Finland-Power station. It was created in 1926 by scission of the commune of Jämsä.
The city draws its industrial calling from the rapids ( Koski in Finnois) of the river Jämsänjoki, energy source for the factories. As of the Years 1920, UPM did one of its most important centers indutriels of them. Today, the prosperity of the city remains largely founded on the Pulp paper. Nevertheless, the economy engaged its diversification, with also a company specialized in the production of Enzymes. The industrial employment counts for 49% of total employment, one of the most rate in Finland.
Jämsänkoski is bordered by the communes of Jämsä in south (9 km of center in center), Keuruu in the west, Petäjävesi in north and Korpilahti in the east. The provincial capital Jyväskylä is to 60 km, Tampere to 110 km and Helsinki to 226 km.
