János Adorjan

János Adorjan (January 1st 1882 - July 2nd 1964) was a Engineer in mechanics Hungarian. After having obtained its diploma for the occupation of engineer with Stuttgart in 1903, it collaborated with Gottlieb Daimler. He worked then between 1906 and 1909 in auto industry in Paris before returning to Hungary to produce there an engine of aviation 2 cylinders out of V of 25 ch, associated to another Hungarian, F. Dedics.

This engine was installed on the Adorjan AI Makes out, a monoplane of the type Blériot drawn by J. Adorjan and built by the factory of the Köhler Brothers and the Technical University of Budapest. On this plane, which steals on December 9th, 1909 successfully, János Adorjan was the first Hungarian pilot to have flown in its country on an aircraft designed locally. (Scale: 8,79 m; Length: 7,31 m; Total weight: 280 kg). Controlling a new version of its monoplane, the Adorjan A-II Strucc, J.Adorjan third was classified on 29 competitors in the disputed International Air Race in June 1910 with Rakosmezö. In 1912 János Adorjan will return to the car, becoming representative of Mercedes then, after the war, collaborating in the realization of the Ikarus coaches.
