Iwami
is the municipality constituting the district of Iwami, in the extreme North-East of the Préfecture of Tottori and by the fact even of the Région of Chūgoku, in Japan.
The majority of its population suited to work is occupied is fishing with the squid or culture of rice.
Iwami has a famous Onsen locally, the onsen Yukamuri (also called onsen of Iwai).
At the academic level, there are three elementary schools (Minami, Nishi and Kita), a secondary school and a college (of the same name as the municipality). In July 2005, the team of baseball of the college reached the semi-finales with the tournament préfectural of collegial baseball. It is further that the team went up to that point and that had an important significance on the level préfectural. It however lost with the semi-finales against the college Nishi de Tottori.
The municipality, at least its coastal sector, fact part of the national park of the San' coast in, famous for its landscapes. One finds there many beaches, banks and small islands, very snuffed for deep-sea diving and by the tourists in August.
The station of Iwami is at 25 minutes of Tottori, that is to say the third stop on the Tottori-Hamasaka line in direction is.
