Ivy Queen
Martha Ivelisse Pesante alias Ivy Queen was born in Añasco, Puerto Rico) the March 4th 1972. It is a compositrice and a known Chanteuse under the name of " The diva" , " Gata" , " Caballota" , or " Reina LED Reggaeton ".
His/her parents have immigrant with New York where it was high. To its adolescence, his/her parents returned to their birthplace, Añasco.
When Martha was 18 years old, it went to San Juan and met the rappor and producer DJ Negro. DJ Negro helped it and presented it to a group called Noise. With Noise and its first song " interpreted wrote; Somos Rapperos Pero No Delincuentes" (we are Rap fear, not delinquent). Convinced by DJ Negro it launches out in solo in 1997, it enregisté its first the album " In Semi Imperio" (in my empire) for the label Sony which was sold with more than 100.000 copies. Ivy Queen left to Panama where it represented Puerto Rico in " the battle of the rap". It also made some representations in Dominican Republic with closed counter and took part in the first national festival of the rap and the Reggae ". There, it was promoted " singer of rap the année". Moreover, in 1997, it received the reward of the " Artist of 97" by the Artista magazine.
In 1998, it recorded its second album, for the Sony label, entitled " Hard original Girl" who has comprised the tubes " Interlude in the Zone" , " That Sabes Tu" and " The King and The Queen" who was sold better than the first.
" Diva" , its third album left in 2003. The songs in the beginning written by it and were carried out with the participation of various artists. The album was nominated as a better album of reggaeton to the Latin Billboard Awards 2005, and the song Dile better song tropical of the year.
Its words bring a positive and nonbrutal message for its generation, and speak about Puerto Rico and the abuse of which many women suffer.
