The Ivy League is the grouping of eight universities managing the competitions Sport ives in thirty-three male or female sports in the North-East of the the United States.
History
Founded in 1954, the Ivy League begins its competitions in 1956. Before this date, an agreement named Ivy Group Agreement dealt with the competitions of American football since 1945.The Basket-ball does not have a regular championship within the Ivy League . The team having best the victories ratio/defeats however is qualified for the national tournament NCAA, with match of stopping in the event of equality.
One of the rare disciplines where the Ivy League remains still competitive is the Aviron. Harvard thus gained the male national title in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
