Ivry-sur-Seine

Ivry-on the Seine is a town of France, in the southern suburbs of Paris, on which it is bordering. Its inhabitants are Ivryens.

Geography

The communal territory was formerly wider. Ivry loses the north of its territory, attached to Paris in 1860 to constitute part of the 13 {{E}} district.

The commune is served by the Gare of Ivry-sur-Seine on the line C of the RER and by the stations of subway Pierre and Marie Curie and Mairie of Ivry on the line 7.

History

Ivry is a historical stronghold of the French Communist party, which controls the town hall since 1925.

Economy

Ivry Grand Sky is a Shopping mall located in edge of the Seine. It includes/understands a Hypermarché Carrefour and approximately 80 ensigns installed out of 60.000 m ².

History

Opened in February 1982, the shopping mall was completely renovated in the middle of the Années 1990, but always suffered from the too strong competition of Creteil Sun and Bercy 2. Also, a new restoration is in hand and should be completed in March 2008. The shopping mall will then be renamed the Quays of Ivry .

The shopping mall articulates itself around the hypermarket Carrefour, which occupies 15.222 m ². One also finds there a store C&A of 1.760 m ²
