Ivanoe Bonomi

Ivanoe Bonomi (born the October 18th 1873 with Mantoue, in Lombardy, Italy - died the April 20th 1951 with Rome) was a politician and Italian statesman of first half of the 20th century.

Biography

Ivanoe Bonomi was elected with the Italian House of Commons in 1909 to represent Mantoue, as a member of the Italian Socialist party.

The July 4th 1921, Ivanoe Bonomi is named President of the council and has to form a new government to succeed the 5th government of Giovanni Giolitti (1920 - 1921). It will remain in function juequ' with the February 26th 1922.

When the marshal Pietro Badoglio is forced to resign in 1944, Ivanoe Bonomi is again charged, the June 18th, to form a government. The cabinet, composed of the count Carlo Sforza, professor Croce and the leader of the Communist party, Palmiro Togliatti will remain in function until the formation of the government of Ferruccio Parri, the June 19th 1945. ----
