Ivan Vassilievitch Babouchkine

Ivan Vassilievitch Babouchkine (pseudonyms in clandestinity, inter alia: Nikolaï Nikolaïevitch, Bogdan, Novitskaya) born the January 3rd 1873, dead the January 18th 1906 is a revolutionist professional Bolchevik.

Biography

It is born in the village from Ledenskoïe, in the district of Totemski, province of Vologda (currently Oblast de Vologda, area of Babouchkine), in a family of peasants. Apprentice Metal worker with Kronstadt of 1887 with 1891, then metal worker with Saint-Pétersbourg with the Semianikov factory as from the summer 1891, it enters in 1894 the circle of Marxist workmen directed by Lénine.

In 1895, it takes an active part in work of the   “  Organization of fight for the release of the class ouvrière  ” of Saint-Pétersbourg. He undertakes revolutionary activities among the workmen of the factories Semiannikov, Alexandrov and Steklianny, where he organizes working committees and libraries. He is stopped in 1896 for his participation in the   “  Organization of fight for the release of the class ouvrière  ” and off-set with Ekaterinoslav in February 1897.

In December 1897, Babouchkine belongs to the founders of a section of the   “  Organization of fight for the release of the class ouvrière  ” in Ekaterinoslav. It creates the committee of Ekaterinoslav of POSDR ( РСДРП ) in October 1898 and, in 1900, it founds the clandestine newspaper the worker of the South ( Youjni rabotchi ). It diffuses the Iskra , the newspaper of Lénine, of which it is a corresponding credit.

During years 1900 and 1901, it contributes to the revolutionary activity with Moscow, Smolensk, Polatsk, Orekhovo-Zouevo, Ivanovo-Voznesensk and in other cities. In 1902, it escapes from the prison of Ekaterinoslav and is exiled with London.

In October 1902, it returns in Russia. As a member of the committee pétersbourgeois of the POSDR, he is opposed to the “  économistes  ” and with the partisans of Zoubatov, according to the line of Lénine and of the Iskra . It is stopped in 1903 and is condemned to five years of imprisonment to Verkhoïansk in Eastern Siberia.

Amnestied in 1905, it takes an active part in the revolution of 1905-1907. He becomes member of the sections of the POSDR of Irkoutsk and of Tchita, collaborates in the newspaper Bolshevik Zabaïkalski rabotchi ( the Workman of Transbaïkalie ). It directs, with V.K. Kournatovski and A.A. Kosciuszko-Valioujanitch, an armed insurrection with Tchita.

In January 1906, whereas it convoie of the weapons of Tchita with Irkoutsk, it is intercepted at the station of railroad of Slioudianka, on the line of the Transbaïkal, by the forwarding carried out by the general Müller-Zakomelski. He is shot the January 18th 1906 at the station of Mysovaïa.

In its honor, the town of Mysovsk, where the station of Mysovaïa is (today in République of Bouriatie), was famous Babouchkine in 1941. A museum is devoted to him in this city.
