Career
Iva Majoli begins its career on the circuit WTA in August 1991.
Its solid basic play of short, whose power and precision are not without pointing out that of Monica Seles, ensures him of fast progress. Very quickly, it settles among the ten best players of the world (the 4th world February 5th 1996) and gains its first important tournaments: the Open of Zurich in 1995, the Open of Tokyo in 1996.
In June 1997, at nineteen years and against any waiting, it gains Roland-Garros vis-a-vis favorite and the number one world sixteen years, Martina Hingis. That will remain its only title of the Grand Slam.
Thereafter, of the wounds with repetition (in particular with the shoulder) and its tribulations in the Jet-set (largely commented in the popular press) hold it regularly far away from the courts. In spite of a last success with Charleston in April 2002, the quality of its play declines little by little.
Gone down again fine 2003 with the 131e row, its inconstancy and its lack of results finally push it to announce its sporting retirement, the June 12th 2004, at the age of twenty-seven years.
Iva Majoli gained eight tournaments into simple and one in double, all cash among most prestigious of the circuit.
