Its Excellence

Its Excellence , shortened S.E. , is an honorary predicate governed by diplomatic conventions.

Usually, a country decrees this predicate with the ambassadors resident. The monarchies of the the Commonwealth which have a General governor decree it with their Head of State '' de facto '' all along their mandate. Name is also used, at the time of official ceremonies, to characterize a Head of State or a minister. Example: Its Excellence Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, president of the French Republic, Co-prince d' Andorre . This use fell in disuse in France, but it remains the diplomatic standard.

Its Excellence , shortened S. Exc. , is an honorary predicate governed by ecclesiastical conventions. It is employed for the bishops and archbishops. Example: Its Excellence Monseigneur Joan Enric Sharp I SicĂlia, bishop of Urgel, Co-prince d' Andorre .
