Ito-Yokado

Ito-Yokado (イトーヨーカ堂) is one of principal groups distribution Japanese with the first chain of supermarkets to the Japan.

Including/understanding more than one about fifty companies whose 7 Eleven which counts more than 8000 sales outlets to the Japan and more than 5000 in the United States, the group carries out more 3500 billion yens of sales turnover.

It is by a small clothes shop for man that the group began in Tokyo in 1920. Its founder was Tosho Yoshikawa. In 1961, after a study trip in the United States and in Europe, its nephew Masatoshi Ito decided to import the concept of large distribution in Japan. In 1995, the company adopted the name of Ito-Yokado. Its president, near to the theorist in management Peter Drucker was one of the first to be adopted in his company of the deontologic and ecological rules.

During last years, the group signed several joint-ventures in China for development of stores mainly around Beijing.

Ito-Yokado is currently with the 16th world rank of the groups of distribution.
