Barbonne-Fayel is a common French, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.
History
The Barat abbot was cleaned of Barbonne at the beginning of the 19th century, it wrote notes drawn from the files of the town hall. These new notes were typed at the end of the 20th century. The following facts there are raised:- the primitive name would be Bar-under-Wood, following a constant fidelity and with a good reception in this village, a Thibault, count de Champagne gave him the name of Barbonne.

In 1845 the commune of Barbonne amalgamates with that of Fayel. The inhabitants of Fayel then diposent right of Affouage on certain wood of the forest of Traconne. Gradually the village of Fayel, located at the south of Barbonne, empties these inhabitants, to disappear completely.

- With the localities Mardelles, Dolmen under tumulus dating from the Neolithic .
- Commanderie of the templiers, there was in Barbonne a commandery of the templiers. On this building one will consult, also, the article of Edouard de Barthélemy, published in the historical Variétés and archaeological over Chalonnais and Rémois , Paris, Librairie Small, 1877, Sixth series.
Personalities related to the commune
- Ernest Delbet, born the November 9th 1831 in Barbonne or Fayel, deceased the December 9th 1908 in Paris was of September 3rd, 1893 with its appointed death, elected by a district of the Seine-et-Marne.
- Albert Demoulin was born on August 30th, 1863 with Escombres-and-the-Chesnois in the the Ardennes. His/her Nicolas father is carpenter. Very early he knows the world of the trade union while becoming secretary of the trade union of metals. As a garage hand, he works in Hardy-Captain. He entered quickly the life of Rimogne. Indeed, in 1901, it supports the slaters rimognats. One of its principles was " To make interests of the localité" as well as possible;. In 1906, it integrates the Salte quarries while being in its board of directors. It is now in the middle of the village. Very active in socialist propaganda, Demoulin is delegated to the congress of Lyon in 1901, with the national congresses of SFIO to Limoges (1906), Nancy (1907), Toulouse (1908) and Saint-Etienne (1909). In 1910, he becomes city council man under the mandate of a man quite as important: Mr. Jules Desplous. After a fight baited to become Appointed of the Ardennes to the legislative elections 1902,1906 and 1910, he finally manages to beat the Dunaime Deputy in 1914 by 5752 votes against 5675. During the First World War, it tries to keep the bond between the militants. With leaving the war, in 1919, he is again candidate with the legislative elections which he loses. Demoulin dies on August 13rd, 1946 with Barbonne-Fayel in the Marne at the 83 years age.
