Italian cultural institute of Paris
Having two entries (50 Street of Game preserve and 73 Street of Grenelle), in the 7th district of Paris, the Italian cultural Institut of Paris was inaugurated in 1962.

The building
Located in the middle of the Suburb Saint-Germain, between the Street of Grenelle, the Street of Game preserve and the Street of the Vat, the Hôtel of Galliffet was built by the architect Jacques-Guillaume Legrand between 1776 and 1792.Remain of the father of Eugene Delacroix then of Talleyrand, seat of the Ministère of the Foreign relations of 1794 with 1821, this private mansion accommodated other famous characters such Benjamin Constant, Chateaubriand, Napoleon i, Madam de Staël, or the poet Antoine-Vincent Arnault.
Between 1992 and 1993, work of restoration restored with the Hotel of Galliffet its old splendor.
Acquired by the Italian State in 1909, it was initially the seat of the Embassy, then Consulate-general of Italy and, in 1962, Italian Cultural Institute.
Operation
Organization depend on the Italian Ministry of the Foreign affairs, the Institute is currently directed by Giorgio Ferrara.The district of the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris includes/understands the following areas (four other Italian cultural institutes in France - Lille, Lyon, Marseilles, Strasbourg - have in load the other areas):

Mission and activities
Charged diffusing and with promoting the language and the Italian culture, the Institute has like main objectives the organization of course of language and Italian culture and the realization of cultural initiatives which have as a subject the Italy, its cultural life, artistic and scientific.The Institute proposes the following services:
- of the courses of language and Italian culture given by qualified teachers of Italian native tongue
- two annual sessions of examinations to obtain the Certification of Italian like Foreign language delivered by the Universities for Foreigners of Perugia and His
- a Italian Library at the disposal of the public for the consultation and the loan of books, video-cassettes, DVD, reviews and Italian newspapers
- a service of information and documentation on Italy in the cultural field
