Synopsis

In the Bronx of the Years 1960, the district of Fordam is directed by the Mafia. The Sicilians reign as Masters and orchestrate as good seems to them the activity of the district. Lorenzo Anello, workman and father of a family of Italian stock, will do everything to prevent his/her Calogero son from attending this medium which he considers unhealthy.

The child, witness of a murder made by the capo Sony, will lie to the police force in order to respect celebrates it law of silence, the Omerta. From this day, Sony will regard Calogero as his/her own son. Thus, nothing will be any more as before…

It was once Bronx is the very first film of Robert De Niro as a Réalisateur. This pure masterpiece put in music thanks to groups “oldies” such as The Cleftones, tackles very important subjects, like the friendship, the affection, the passage of childhood at the adulthood, the good and the evil, the life of the Italian immigrants, the family as well as racism.

Joe Pesci, large friend of the actor realizer Robert De Niro, makes an appearance at the end of film.

The history recalls actually the childhood of the Italian-American actor Calogero “Chazz” Palminteri which interprets in film the role of Sony.
