Islet with Cordes

Îlet with Cords is a islet installed on a plate isolated from the island of the Réunion, in the west of the Center-ville of Cilaos. Only a narrow road with side of Montagne makes it possible to connect the borough, with eleven kilometers from there.

Toponymy

The islet at the time owes its name during which it was occupied by maroon slaves , the latter reaching it by means of cord S rather than by Sentier S in order not to leave traces likely to reveal their presence with the hunters of slaves.

Current characteristics

Islet with Cordes currently counts 431 inhabitants divided in 138 residences.
