Islet Reel
the islet Caret is a uninhabited islet located in the Large bottom of marine bag, with broad of Sainte Rose in Guadeloupe. It is approximately 250 meters long on a score of meters broad on average. Its vegetation consists of coconuts and palm trees like some other plants. The white sand of which it is formed, partly consists of dead Coraux coming from the barrier of coral located at a few hundred meters from there.
The islet was created by the underwater movements which had partly with the earthquakes like by the action of the wind and the sea. Each year, the islet changes form and certain sand banks disappear with the profile from other new.
Fauna and flora
The islet owes its name with a species of Tortue marinades, the tortoises Caret which come on the island to reproduce at certain periods of the year.
Many species of birds live there, as well as crabs.
Les sea-beds is also very rich in fish and other molluscs because of protection which offers the coral barrier.
