Islands of Boynes
The islands Boynes are two small islands of the Archipel Kerguelen.
Located at about thirty kilometers in the south of the Peninsula To rejoin of Baty on the Large Ground, it are just located below the 50 {{E}} parallel south (). Apart from the Ad3elie coast, of which French sovereignty was suspended by the Traité on the Antarctic, the Boynes islands constitute the the French ground southernmost.
They were discovered in 1772 during the first forwarding of Yves Joseph de Kerguelen de Trémarec in the area. Their name was given in the honor of the marquis de Boynes, Minister French for the Navy of the time.
