Island of the Cabin
The island of the Cabin is a island of the the Seine, long approximately 2,5 kilometers, located in the Yvelines between the Port-Marly, Louveciennes and Bougival on left bank (common to which it is attached administratively), and the Croissy-on-Seine on Right Bank.
This island is attached to left bank by a road Pont located not far from its upstream end, as by a footbridge for Piéton S. It is between the island Corbière downstream, and the island of the Roadway upstream, of which it is separated by the lock S from Bougival.
The island of the Cabin is one of the places which inspired the impressionist, in particular Sisley.
It is in the arm of the Seine located between this island and left bank, on the level of Louveciennes, which was built at the 17th century a Barrage allowing the installation of the Machine of Marly, designed to feed the castles of Versailles and of water Marly coming from the Seine.
This island accommodates in particular a center of the Compagnons of Emmaüs.
