Island of São Francisco
The island of São Francisco , located on the northern littoral of the States of Brazil of Santa Catarina, is one of the largest island of the State.
It is delimited in north and the west by the Baie of Babitonga, in the south by the Canal of Linguado and in the east by the Atlantic Ocean.
In the North-East of the island is the seat of the municipality of São Francisco C Sul, one of the oldest cities of the Brésil. The island was discovered in 1504 by French Binot Paulmier de Gonneville but its settlement began only one century later when Portuguese settled there.
One counts approximately 13 beaches around the island, some faces with the full sea and others with calm water. Among them, one can quote, the praia of Itaguaçu , the praia of Ubatuba , the praia da Enseada , the praia C Molhe , the praia da Saudade , the Strong praia C , the praia Grande , the praia C Ervino and the praia of Inglêses .
One also finds many small islands on his coasts, so much in bay of Babitonga (approximately 24 islands) that in the ocean and the channel of Linguado.
