Island of Pentecost

The island of Pentecost is one of the 83 islands of the archipelago of the Vanuatu, in the province of Penama. It is located at 190 km in the north of the capital, Port-Villa.

The island stretches north in the south on 60 km. The assembly line, dominated by the peak Vulmat (947 m) delimits the wet and rainy east coast of the west coast more moderate.

The island was discovered the May 22nd 1768 by the explorer French Louis Antoine de Bougainville.
