The island of Campeche is located in the Atlantic Ocean, on the Littoral southern of the Brésil, in the east of the island of Santa Catarina, in the municipality of Florianópolis. It is with broad beach of Campeche, to which it probably gave its name.

Directed North-South, it is approximately 1,5 km long for 500 m broad. Its surface is of 0,38 km ². On the northern coast of the island exists a small sand beach end.

Om finds signs of a very old occupation there human, like engravings on rocks (just as in other islands of the archipelago), which in fact an archaeological site required.
