Island of Éléphanta
The island of Éléphanta (or island Gharapuri ) is one of many the island S of bay of Bombay. It is to 10 km of banks of the city and is known for its temples dug in the rock. It bears the name of Éléphanta because the first thing that transfer the Portuguese explorers who discovered it at the 17th century was a sculpture of elephant cut with very the rock.
