Here some programs for the amateurs of astronomy.

  • AudeLA : powerful free software, allowing acquisitions CCC, the piloting of telescopes, the treatment and the exploitation of the images. Possible automation thanks to scripts TCL. It is coupled with Sky charts for the pointing.

  • Sky charts: complete and esthetic planetarium with a multitude of catalogs.
  • Celestia
  • Kstars (LPG) under environment KDE. It makes it possible to control telescopes of the type LX 200 and Celestron GPS
  • Seesat5
  • Starplot
  • Stellarium (LPG) is a photo-realistic planetarium in real-time.
  • Xephem (nonfree)
  • Xplns (free but nonfree) for GNU-Linux.
  • ESO/MIDAS: image processing used by the professionals, powerful but controlled by macro-orders.
  • IRAF: another image processing having moultes libraries dedicated to the various astronomical specialities.
  • Fitsblink: to make superimpose in alternation two images and detect the differences.
  • Fitsview: tool multiplateforme of visualization of images FITS.
  • DS9: a powerful visualisor of images FITS, composition of images, blink… It is also known under the name of saoimage.
  • FV: software of NASA to visualize and publish files FITS.
  • Bifsconv: universal converter of images towards FITS.
  • Kastrhorloge: assistance with the pointing of instrument by providing the ascent and the variation of any object according to the hour and the place of observation.
  • Qastrocam: piloting of webcam and homing of mountings.
  • Xmtel: program to control the telescopes meade LX200 and Celestron NexStar GPS autonomous or in liason with XEphem.
  • HEEL: automated piloting of observatory and telescopes.
  • Lightpipes: tools for optical construction of models taking account of diffraction.
  • Lightspeed: show how the objects are deformed move with speed of light.
  • Nightfall: simulation of star binary and their eclipses with animation.
  • Xorsa: tools 3D and powerful of simulation per integration of the dynamics of the celestial body, ideal for the study of the celestial mechanics.
  • Xstar: simulation of binary star orbit. After having added masses with the key " d" , the trajectories take shape color and leads us to observe the evolution of the system.
  • Xstar (homonymous): calculation programme of the conditions and the spectrum generated by the photoionization in a gas.
  • Smooth: Numerical simulation program of the problem of the N-bodies. While returning there speed, the sizes according to the axes, the density of matter, etc, it comes out from it a file containing the new distribution of matter after a certain duration.
  • Spectrum: synthetizer of stellar spectra.
  • SpcAudACE: program resting on AudeLA permttant the reduction and the analysis of spectra via powerful pipelines.
  • Specview: the applet Java of NASA for the visualization of the spectra.
