Isambard Kingdom Brunel

Wire of the engineer Marc Isambart Brunel (of French origin), Isambard Kingdom Brunel (April 9th 1806September 15th 1859) is an English, famous engineer to have carried out the Great Western Railway (Main road of iron of the West, line London - Bristol).

One owes him several bridges, of which the Royal Albert Bridge, close to Plymouth, and the Suspended bridge of Clifton, with Bristol, which was finished in 1864, five years after its death.

It was also at the origin of several Paquebot S Transatlantique S, of which the " Great Eastern " . The history tells that the difficulties related to the construction of the ship were right of its health. Brunel died of a Cerebral vascular accident right before the launching of the steamer.
