Isabelle de Gloucester
Isabelle de Gloucester , dead the October 14th 1217, is the first wife of the king Jean of England. It is also known for the great number of its names: Hadwisa, Hawise, Joan, Eleanor, Warn and Warned.
Isabelle is the girl of the William Fitz Robert and his wife, Hawise. Its paternal grandfather is the illegitimate son of Henri I {{er}}, king d' Angleterre. His/her father dies in 1183 and, as it does not have any male heir, his title turns over to the Crown, but a new creation is granted to him in 1186, and it becomes countess of Gloucester .
The August 29th 1189, it Marie with Jean, count de Cornouailles, with the castle of Marlborough, in the Wiltshire, and he assumes the title in his right. Little before or after the accession with the throne Jean in 1199, it obtains the cancellation of the marriage of the pope Innocent III due to Consanguinité (they are cousins, downward one and the other of the king Henri I {{er}}). Isabelle recognized forever like queen, and its old title turns over to the Crown.
Later, it remarie with the count d' Essex the January 20th 1214. After the death of its second husband in 1216, it Marie with Hubert de Burgh (later Count de Kent) in September 1217. Isabel dies one month after and is buried in the Cathédrale of Canterbury.
