Isabelle Pierre
Isabelle Pierre is a Chanteuse (mainly interprets) and stimulating born Nicole Lapointe in 1944.
Biography
Isabelle Pierre was born in 1936. The career of Isabelle Pierre is of short duration, but it is very intense, in particular thanks to its meeting with the composer-songwriter Stephan Venne who writes a series of success to him.
The artist thus begins in 1963 in the field from the song, after a few years of studies in visual arts. It makes the boxes with songs and takes part in contests of amateurs before publishing a first album in 1965. This last makes known it in an important way with a vaster public, but at once, Isabelle leaves the song to direct herself towards the animation of the emission " Jeunesse" Saturday; with the Company Radio-Canada. Its return will be carried out in 1969 whereas it obtains a good success with its personal resumption of the song of Frida Boccara " Hundred thousand chansons". It signs consequently a contract at Barclay Canada and makes the happy meeting of Stephan Venne which works then mainly with the singer Renee Claude. Written Venne and composes for Isabelle Pierre a series of success between 1970 and 1973 of which " Heureuse" , " If you me aimes" , " The paix" , " Hello the vie" and of course the very popular song " Children of the avenir" who becomes his larger success. It gives during this period of many recitals of which one with the Place of Arts of Montreal in 1970, in first part of Claude Léveillée.
The years 1971 and 1972 are records and glorious for Isabelle Pierre. She takes part with Claude Gauthier in the Festival of Spa in order to represent the Société Radio-Canada there and is another success of scale with the song " Time is bon" , which becomes the topic of the film " Mâles" of the scenario writer Gilles Carle. Moreover, one devotes the special ones to him televised and during this time, it continues to accumulate successes on disc, in particular with its very touching song " Évangéline" , written this time by Michel Tells and which tells with its way the history of the Acadie. " Évangéline" will be taken again with brilliance many years later by Marie-Jo Thério, then by Annie Blanchard of the vintage 2005 of Star Academy.
In 1973, Isabelle Pierre launches a compilation of his greater successes which is entitled " Ballade for Sergio Leone" on which one finds there new songs, of which " The love maladroit". But soon, it comes from there to look at elsewhere and whereas Stephan Venne works with other artists (Emmanuëlle and Suzanne Stevens inter alia…), the singer, who has enough the medium of it, decides to practically withdraw herself without notice. She with this intention publishes a last album in 1974 which in known as length from its title: " I am called Nicole Lapointe" … She takes again her Christian name and thus leaves Isabelle Pierre well far behind her. This last opus was not the success which it would have deserved, undoubtedly for lack of promotion. Good beautiful songs are however found there, of which " It is made Mrs Ménard" late; and " Thirty percent ".
Become again Nicole Lapointe, Isabelle Pierre never returned to her trade of interpreter, not even to take part in the least small variety programme recalling successes of the Sixties and seventies. She is completely disappeared from circulation, but she on the other hand gave her downstream to the republication of her songs out of compact disk, which was made first once in 1997 (a double box and an album in the collection " Portrait"), and more recently, second once in 2004. Isabelle Pierre will have been, with inter alia Renee Claude, proud representing one time of freedom and hope, and a Quebec in full cultural and political awakening. Diane Dufresne in particular, will take the changing thereafter in a bright way.
