Isaac Pitman

Sir Isaac Pitman (January 4th 1813 - January 22nd 1897), inventive British, is the author of the method of Sténographie Pitmann.
Biography
Isaac Pitmann initially used during 7 years the method Taylor before working out its own method. It developed the system most largely widespread of the Sténographie, known now like the Pitman method. He proposed the first time this in Stenographic Soundhand in 1837. This method is mainly used with the the United Kingdom and in North America.
Following the invention of the stamp in England, it creates the courses by correspondence, in 1840, in London, to teach its method of shorthand remotely. it is the first course by correspondence in the world.
Pitman was a qualified professor and taught in a private school which it founded with Wotton-under-Edge in the Gloucestershire. He was the large father of Sir James Isaac, known to have developed the Alphabet of initial teaching.
He was the vice-president of the Vegetarian Society (company of promotion of the Végétarisme). He was born with Trowbridge, in the Wiltshire.
