Irving Janis (1918 - 1990) is researcher in Psychologie of the Université Yale and a professor emeritus of the the University of California. He is the inventor of the concept of Pensée of group (or thought groupale, according to the translations), which he highlighted in the Seventies by analyzing some fiascoes particularly resounding American politico-soldiers, like that of the Débarquement of Bay of the Pigs.

He also collaborated with Carl Iver Hovland in his studies on the behavioral changes, including the Effet of drowsiness.
