Irving Berlin

Irving Berlin is an American type-setter, born the May 11th 1888 with Mogilyov (Bielorussia), and deceased the September 22nd 1989 with New York (the United States). It owes its fame with the many musical comedies of which it signed the music. Its most known song is probably Cheek to cheek , created by Fred Astaire in the film Top Hat, emblematic of this musical genre. He is also the author of God Bless America , patriotic song made up in 1918 and often considered as the American semi-official national anthem. He is also the type-setter of the song White Christmas , individual more sold history of the music (more: 50000000 past copies), recorded inter alia by Bing Crosby in 1942 then taken again in 1949 per cause of wear of the original soundtrack.
