Iron Man
Iron Man is a character of Comic S published by Marvel Comics which was created in 1963 by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Jack Kirby and Don Heck in the review Tales Off Suspense n° 39.
In France, the character was published in the pages of the small size Strange as of its first number with the editions Lug in 1970, under covers of Jean Frisano. Lug publishes the series starting from Iron Man 1 off (1968) by omitting all the episodes published since 1963 in Tales Suspense.
Iron Man belongs to the multiple supermen created by prolific Stan Lee with which one must inter alia Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four. It is a man, Anthony Stark, who revêt an armor of his design, conferring multiple capacities to him. Iron Man is the prototype of the technological hero of which the spirit is able to design the most astonishing weapons.
Initial origins
At the time of the War of Vietnam, Anthony Edward “Tony” Stark is an industrialist who works with the manufacture of weapons for the US government. This activity leads the playboy, whose physique points out Clark Gable, to go on the ground to show the power of one of its new inventions of the time: the transistors, which are able to multiply by ten the power of any weapon. Unfortunately, it jumps on a mine which projects glares close to its heart. Captured by the Vietnamese soldiers, it is obliged by their chief to manufacture weapons with the assistance of an Asian scientist, professor Yinsen, him so captive. Conscious of the imminent death of Tony Stark because of the glares, they decide to develop a device intended to slow down their progression in the body of the industrialist: an armor, equipped with transistors. Professor Yinsen sacrifices his life to save time so that the armor of Tony Stark accumulates enough energy to function. Once accustomed to its new body, Iron Man gets rid easily of its adversaries and flees.
New origins & Biography
In order to reactualize character (which would be too old in the years 2000 if it had taken part in the war of Vietnam), Marvel Comics off redefines to him its origins in the Official Handbook the Marvel Universe - Avengers 2004 . Anthony Stark is the son of Howard Stark, the owner of powerful the Stark Industries , this last being an alcoholic. Tony Stark grows and becomes an inventor shining and imaginative. When his/her parents die in an car accident following defective brakes, it takes the reins of Stark Industries and buys the company having built the car before curing itself the defect. Charming playboy and at ease in company, it finally decides to go to visit one of its factories in Asia. It falls on local rebels wanting to be caught some with its goods. During the dispute, an explosion follows and propels a metal short period which notches the heart of Stark slightly. Captured with Ho Yinsen by Wong-Chu (who serves the Mandarin), they are ingénuent to find a means of escaping. In order to survive, Stark revêt the drill plate of the prototype of armor of combat developed with Ho Yinsen then succeeds in fleeing with the totality of this one thanks to the sacrifice of his/her friend. In its escape, it meets James Rhodos, a pilot of American Air Force, which it engages of return to the United States. Stark is now Iron Man.Finally, one withdraws the glares to him which handicapped it so much. It designs increasingly sophisticated armours and ceases manufacturing weapons, in homage to professor Yinsen. It fights the crime as Iron Man, officially bodyguard and technological window of Stark Industries.
Like all the heroes of Stan Lee, Iron Man is a “type with super-capacities, but also of the super-problems”. Thus, the man adulated and admired by crowd must it remain locked up in an armor to remain in life. Once its regulated cardiac problems, the authors associated to him a problem of Alcoolisme which follows it permanently, and which obliges it even for a long period to give up the armor of Iron Man.
In the history entitled The Crossing , it was revealed that Tony Stark was secretly unpleasant since the beginnings of his career as Iron Man and that its mission had been to infiltrate the Avengers for the account of Kang. After he assassinated several people, the Avengers decided to turn over in the past to enlist a young person Tony Stark still adolescent. When the Stark old man died, the teenager replaced it in the armor of Iron Man for some time before dying in his turn with the hands of Onslaught. Thus the life of Iron Man finished. However, the saga Avengers Forever cancels this second reading while making go up the treason of Stark only in a few months, and by revealing that Kang was in fact only one extraterrestrial whose race is known under the name of Space Phantoms .
The character reappeared in the universe Heroes Reborn, become again adult, and will return later in the traditional Marvel universe with his comrades. The concept of the character was reactualized in 2005-2006, by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, in the Iron Man (vol.IV) #1-6 (published in Iron Man: Extremis at Marvel France in November 2006).
Later, of the years after its resurrection, Iron Man will support the application of Super Hero Registration Act, following the tragedy event which has occurred in Civil War.
After the events of War Civilian, Tony Stark becomes the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D and it forms also the Mighty Avengers with other supermen who are in agreement with the " Super Hero Act" Registration;.
Comics
Since its creation, Iron Man forever considering its stopped publication. If the unpleasant ones that it fights as a recluse are very diverse, he is also founding member and credit of the Vengeurs, in company of Thor, Hulk, the Wasp and Giant-Man.
Ultimate Iron Man
After a first appearance in the pages of Ultimate Marvel TEAM-Up , the version Ultimate d' Iron Man appeared in the series Ultimates , before being entitled to its own mini-series scenarized by Orson Scott Card and drawn by Andy Kubert (with Mark Bagley in the last number), which modifies the origins told in Ultimate Marvel TEAM-Up .

Cinema
A adaptation is envisaged on big screen for 2008 which will be carried out by Jon Favreau. The bands advertisements, seem to show that the history is rather faithful to the comics. The part of Iron Man, will be played by Robert Downey Junior.
Music
In 1970, the group of Heavy Metal Black Sabbath leaves an album entitled Paranoid in which one finds the song Iron Man.
