Irlando-Americans

The Irlando-Americans (Gaelic: Gaël-Mheiriceánach ) is citizens of the the United States claiming ascent Irishwoman. A total of 35 million Americans (that is to say 12% of the total population) would be of Irish origin, this representing the second ethnic community after American declaring German origin. This strong diaspora is explained partly by the Grande famine which seriously touched Ireland at the 19th century and pushed a certain number of its population to emigrate.
