Iria - Zeiram the Animation

Iria - Zeiram the animation (イ ・ リ ・ アゼイラム the Animation) is a Televised series of Japanese Animation in 6 35 minutes episodes, created and realized in 1994 by Keita Amemiya, character indicates by Masakazu Katsura, produced by Bandai and diffused in the form of OAV, putting in scene Iria, chasseuse of premium. The series is used as prolog with the original film Zeiram of the same realizer, proceeding a few years earlier, whereas Iria is still a beginner; the film tells its first confrontation vis-a-vis the inarrêtable Zeiram.

Synopsis

The history begins with Iria, apprentie chasseuse of premium near his/her Gren large-brother, and his Bob team-member. Together, they rather work for the company of Ghomwak safety directed by a hunter lout, named Fujikuro.
During a mission of rescue on a spaceship in perdition, called Karma, they discover that a monster, apparently indestructible called Zeiram, was released from the compartment and massacred the crew. Bob is seriously wounded by Zeiram whereas they try to evacuate the survivors and, trying to destroy Karma, Gren is lost in the vessel. Finally, Iria and Bob manage to escape from the vessel, right before the explosion thanks to the sacrifice of Gren.
Landing on the Myce planet, Iria finds being the target of assassins to the pay of Tedan Tippedai, the company owner of Karma. She discovers, then, a plot aiming at controlling Zeiram to use it as arms. Iria manages to escape with the assistance from Fujikuro.
Together, Iria, Fujikuro and Bob (which, not having survived its wounds, downloaded its spirit in a computer) continue to inquire into the rumors indicating that Zeiram would have reappeared on the Myce planet and to seek indices on Gren which would have survived the explosion of Karma.

Video games

Iria was adapted concerned video for the Super Famicom under the name " Hyper Iria" in Japan only. However, it did not follow the history of the OAV in a scupuleuse way. Iria also seemed main character in " Zeiram zone" for Playstation
