Irene To combine

Girl of Georges Altman, the leader-writer of Franc-tireur, Irene Allier bathes in a family circle located in the tradition of a journalism engaged at the margins of the PCF. The first large newspaper in which she works is the Libération of of Astier of Vigerie. In the middle of the years 1960, it joined the political service of the Express train where, at the sides of Michele Cotta and Catherine Nay, it covers the center mediums.

Little in agreement with the orientation impelled by Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber, it leaves the newspaper for the Point before his/her friend Georges Mamy recruits it with the political service of the Nouvel Observateur. Unloading street of Aboukir in September 1977, it is initially surprised by the absence of directives given to the writers. But it is essential quickly like a respected figure of the service on the sides of Georges Mamy of which it divides the office. Called “grandpa and granny” by the remainder of the drafting, they are both on unit positions favorable to alliance with the PCF and to François Mitterrand.

Charged personally with the PCF and the majority, she is requested also much at the time of the legislative elections of 1978 and of the presidential campaign of 1981. On the communist question, it is made the echo of the topics raised by Jean Elleinstein and Guy Konopnicki in their respective works, not hesitating to interview the second (December 4th, 1978). She also episodically treats leaders of the right-hand side as Raymond Barre (“ Prenez guard with this good-natured ”, April 10th, 1978) and Jacques Chirac of which she follows “ the course of the combatant ” (February 20th, 1978) with interest. But it is not limited to cover only the topicality of the parties and the politicians.

Indeed, it pays also an great attention to the questions of justice and police burs, interviewing on this subject Bernard Delplace and Michel Marcus. She criticizes besides the project Peyrefitte on several occasions (June 1980), calling on the president of the Court of Assizes of Paris, André Braunschweig (May 26th, 1980). But it mentions also the question of the Capital punishment (October 30th, 1978), of the Avortement (April 30th, 1979) and of the immigrant (December 8th, 1980), criticizing on this subject bitterly the Communist party about the business of Vitry.

Faithful to her friend Georges Granny, it follows last when it leaves the newspaper in 1985. She lives in Paris.
