Irena Szewińska

Irena Szewińska , born Irena Kirszenstein the May 24th 1946 with Leningrad is old a Polish Athlète practitioner the sprint.

Sporting career

Born in Leningrad, Soviet ex-Union Polish parents, it takes part in its first plays in 1964 at 18 years. After its sporting career, she assumed many responsibilities in the world for the sport, becoming thus vice-president of the Polish Olympic national committee in 1988, president of the Polish federation of athletics in 1997.

She was named member of the International Olympic committee in 1998.
